In this challenging time for our country, we're grateful for the leaders who continue to lift up the promise of pluralism. Helping people connect and work together across our differences is as pressing and relevant as ever.

Since our launch in 2021, we’ve invested over $33 million in a growing ecosystem of people, ideas, and organizations that bring pluralism to life in communities across the U.S. As we all know, no single leader or intervention alone can shift our civic culture.

This insight is central to our 2030 Strategy, which calls for ambitious investment and greater coordination across the pluralism ecosystem. It’s also why we’re embracing a new leadership model. Rather than a traditional single-leader structure, we will be led by two Co-Executive Directors working in close partnership. Together, they will steward the organization’s long-term vision, strategy, and grantmaking approach as we aim to strengthen belonging, social trust and cooperation in every corner of our country.

Announcing Our First Co-Executive Director

We are thrilled to announce that Liz Vogel, who has been serving as our Interim Executive Director, will continue on as one of New Pluralists’ two Co-Executive Directors. Liz is a trusted leader with deep experience mobilizing resources, navigating complexity, and forging cross-sector partnerships.

As Interim ED, she has guided the organization through a pivotal transition—bringing strategic clarity, operational strength, and renewed momentum to our mission. In this new role, Liz will continue to lead fundraising strategy, philanthropic engagement, governance, operations, and organizational culture.

“In the face of pernicious dehumanization, distrust and division, we need leadership that bridges—and builds. I believe a pluralist future demands both courageous collaboration and deep investment at the scale this movement deserves. I’m excited to lead this next chapter of New Pluralists, alongside our partners, funders and future Co-Executive Director.”

An Active Search

We are actively seeking a second Co-Executive Director to partner with Liz and help lead this next chapter. This leader will focus on supporting and engaging the ecosystem, guiding our learning agenda, and amplifying the public narrative around pluralism. We’re looking for a visionary practitioner with a strong track record of cross-sector partnership, movement-building, and a deep commitment to pluralism.

Is that you or someone you know? Read the job description and consider applying or sharing it with an amazing leader in your network. You can pass along ideas of potential candidates to our search partner, Liz Peinado.

Looking Ahead

In the coming months, we will welcome new funders into the collaborative, launch new investment initiatives, and continue to implement our 2030 Strategy. And, we look forward to growing our leadership in a way that matches the complexity of the work and the ambition of our vision.

We are grateful to be in this work with you.
